FAQ
Common Questions
Why does permissions hygiene matter so much for Copilot specifically?
Copilot does not grant new access — it makes existing access dramatically easier to find and use. A file an employee could technically reach but would never have found manually becomes instantly discoverable in a Copilot answer, which is why an oversharing review is the highest-priority prerequisite.
Do we need sensitivity labels before turning on Copilot?
It is strongly recommended. Sensitivity labels give Copilot (and the DLP policy that should sit behind it) a signal to distinguish confidential or regulated content from general content. Rolling out Copilot without labeling deployed treats all content as equally available.
