Infrastructure & Networking Tool
Network Assessment
Work through network documentation currency, VLAN segmentation practice, core service resilience, and firewall/perimeter hygiene to evaluate your network's operational maturity.
What This Assessment Evaluates
Four Areas of Current-State Network Health
Documentation
Whether network topology and IP scheme are documented and reflect the current environment.
VLAN Segmentation
Whether traffic is segmented by function, not left on a single flat network.
Core Service Resilience
Whether DNS and DHCP have redundancy, so a single failure doesn't take down name resolution or addressing.
Firewall Hygiene
Whether firewall rules are reviewed on a recurring cadence rather than left to accumulate indefinitely.
Understanding Your Results
A Current-State Health Check
This is a quick read on today's operational health, not active network scanning — your answers drive the findings. If a result points to a broader modernization need (aging hardware, no redundancy, insufficient wireless capacity), the Network Modernization Assessment covers that forward-looking planning in more depth.
FAQ
Common Questions
What does a network assessment cover?
This assessment evaluates four areas that shape day-to-day operational maturity: whether your network topology and IP scheme are documented and current, whether traffic is segmented into VLANs, whether core services like DNS and DHCP are redundant, and whether firewall rules are reviewed on a recurring cadence.
How often should a network assessment be repeated?
Annually at minimum, and after any significant change such as a new site, a major infrastructure refresh, or a security incident. Networks drift out of documentation alignment quickly as devices, rules, and segments change.
How is this different from the Network Modernization Assessment?
This assessment is a shorter check on current-state operational health — documentation, segmentation, core service resilience, and firewall hygiene. The Network Modernization Assessment looks further ahead, at hardware lifecycle, redundancy, and wireless capacity, to help decide when and what to modernize. Segmentation, firewall review, and documentation are asked in both, since they matter to both current health and modernization planning.
Does this tool access my network or firewall?
No. This is a structured self-assessment questionnaire — it does not connect to your network hardware, firewall, or DNS/DHCP infrastructure. Responses are processed in your browser to generate the results shown on this page and are not stored or transmitted unless you separately choose to request an emailed copy.
