Understanding Your Results
Readiness Level, Not a Numeric Score
This tool reports Ready, Partially Ready, or Not Yet Ready rather than a numeric score, since IPv6 readiness is better represented as a small set of pass/fail signals than false precision. "Ready" requires a public IPv6 address for your website, a confirmed HTTPS connection over IPv6, and at least one IPv6-capable nameserver — mail IPv6 readiness is reported separately since it lags web IPv6 adoption industry-wide.

What does this tool actually check?
It checks whether your domain publishes a public IPv6 (AAAA) address, attempts a real HTTPS connection to your website specifically over IPv6, and checks whether your authoritative nameservers and MX mail hosts publish IPv6 addresses in DNS. This is an externally visible, domain-based check — not an assessment of your internal network.
Is "AAAA record present" the same as "reachable over IPv6"?
No, and this tool distinguishes the two explicitly. A domain can publish an AAAA record that points to a misconfigured or unreachable server. This tool separately attempts a real HTTPS connection over IPv6 to confirm actual reachability, not just DNS presence.
Does "MX host has IPv6 DNS" mean IPv6 email delivery works?
No. This tool only checks whether your MX hosts publish an AAAA record in DNS — it does not test actual SMTP connectivity over IPv6, which this tool does not perform. Treat it as a DNS-readiness signal, not confirmation that IPv6 mail delivery is fully operational.
Why isn't mail IPv6 required for a "Ready" result?
IPv6 mail delivery is far less universally deployed across the industry than IPv6 web hosting. This tool requires website AAAA, verified HTTPS reachability over IPv6, and IPv6-capable nameservers for a "Ready" result, and reports mail IPv6 readiness separately rather than penalizing sites that are otherwise fully IPv6-ready on the web.
Does this tool scan my internal network?
No. This tool only inspects publicly published DNS records and attempts one HTTPS connection to your public-facing website over IPv6. It cannot and does not scan private, internal, or reserved IPv6 address ranges — those are rejected before any connection is attempted.
